السفارة اللبنانية في الأردن تحتفل بعيد الإستقلال الماسيا

بحضور الأميرة غيداء طلال والأميرة وجدان الهاشمي أقامت  السفيرة اللبنانية في عمان ترايسي داني شمعون ، مساء الأحد ، حفلاً بمناسبة

اليوبيل الألماسي لإستقلال لبنان (مرور 75 عاماً) . كما حضره  رئيس الوزراء الأسبق طاهر المصري و رؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية العربية والأجنبية وعميد الجالية اللبنانية المهندس فؤاد ابوحمدان وأمين عام وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين عطوفة زيد اللوزي ومدير ادارة المراسم السفير سامي غوشة وعضوي مجلس الأعيان طلال ابوغزاله وناصر اللوزي وطاقم السفارة اللبنانية وأمين عمان يوسف الشواربة وعدد من رجال الدين المسيحي والإسلامي وعدد كبير من الجالية اللبنانية في الاردن وحشد من المدعوين.

وألقت السفيرة ترايسي شمعون كلمة خلال الحفل باللغتين العربية والانجليزية، قالت فيها : منذ سنة بدأت مهمتي كسفيرة في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية ولم أتوقع أبدا هذه الدرجة من الأمور المشتركة التي تجمعنا في جوانب كثيرة كالثقافة والنضال والتاريخ بين لبنان والأردن .

وأضافت : هذه الأرض (الأردن ) التي نعيش عليها دون أن ندرك قيمتها هي مهد الحضارات والديانات السماوية ، وأنا أشعر بالطمأنينة للصداقة التي تربط لبنان والأردن منذ بداية عهد استقلاليهما والتزامهما تجاه السلام والحفاظ على كرامة الإنسان في هذه المنطقة .

وأوضحت السفيرة ترايسي شمعون : انفتاحنا تجاه التنوع الديني والحضاري يجعل في لبنان والأردن نموذجين في المسامحة والعدالة والحرية في زمن يتجه في العالم إلى العنف والتطرف .

تابعت: يقال .. إذا شارك شخص غيره في مصائبه فإن مصيبته تهون عليه ولبنان والأردن يتشاركان في ظروفهم الصعبة وفي مواقفهم الواحدة تجاه القضايا المصيرية في المنطقة ، كموضوع حل الدولتين لفلسطين ، وأهمية حماية وكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين “الأونروا” التي تلعب دورا رئيسا في مجالي الصحة وتربية الأطفال الفلسطينيين الذين يعيشون في المخيمات في لبنان والأردن ، ونحن أيضا حريصون على الوصاية الهاشمية على الأماكن المسيحية والإسلامية في القدس .

هناك عدة هواجس تجمعنا أهمها اللاجئين الفلسطينيين والنازحين السوريين على أراضينا (لبنان والأردن) وما يتبع ذلك من مسؤوليات يضاف إليها التحديات الاقتصادية التي زادت من ثقلها الصراعات الإقليمية والحقائق الجغرافية .

لكن على الرغم من كل ذلك ، علاقتنا التاريخية والثقافية واللغوية تجمعنا في هذا المشرق العربي الذي لا يمثل فقط منطقة جغرافية بل مصدر فخر واعتزاز لشعبينا ذات الجذور العريقة .

وقالت : في هذه المناسبة أشعر بالإمتنان والشكر في ذكرى الإستقلال التي تم بجهود أجدادنا وجيلنا الحالي هو الذي استفاد من انتصارهم فكانت الحرية والأستقرار ، اليوم نفتخر ببلدنا (لبنان ) ولا أحد يستطيع أن يهدد سيادتنا التي بنيت على دماء شهدائنا ..رحمهم الله .

وختمت ترايسي شمعون : أتمنى لكم عيد استقلال سعيد .. عشتم وعاش الأردن ، عاش لبنان .

The ceremony which was hosted by the Lebanese Ambassador to Jordan, Tracy Dany Chamoun, on Sunday evening, marked the 75th anniversary of the Independence of Lebanon.

It was attended by HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Princess Wijdan Al Hashimi, former Prime Minister Taher Al-Masri, including many ambassadors and dignitaries, including the dean of the Lebanese Community Mr.Fouad Abu Hamdan, The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mr Zaid Al Lozi, The Director of Protocol, Ambassador Sami Ghosheh, and many members of the Senate, including H.E. Dr Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and H.E. Nasser Al-Lowzi. Also present where many members of the Christian and Islamic clergy and a very large number of the Lebanese community in Jordan.

Full speech delivered by the ambassador:

Good evening, your Royal Highnesses, your Excellences, Ladies and Gentlemen, friends of Lebanon.

Thank you for coming tonight to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the independence of The Republic of Lebanon. I would like to honor both our President General Michel Aoun, and His Majesty King Abdullah II, whose wise council and enlightened leadership continue to guide our countries through their many challenges.

This evening, we will be offering you a buffet of Lebanese fare prepared by Burj El Hamam and we would like to thank our friends at The Intercontinental Hotel for hosting this event.

One year ago, I stepped into my role as ambassador of The Republic of Lebanon to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Never before, have I been made so aware of our shared cultures, struggles, and history. This common land upon which we live is the land of the birth of civilization and the great monotheistic religions of our planet.

I take great solace in the friendship that has existed between Jordan and Lebanon since the declaration of their independence, and we are united in our commitment to peace and human dignity in the region. Our openness to religious diversity and tolerance make Jordan and Lebanon examples to the world of magnanimity and wisdom at a time when many other nations are marching towards bigotry and extremism.

Our burdens are similar and many. The saying that a burden shared is a burden halved has never been so true in the form of our joint commitments to vital matters such as the belief in a “Two State Solution” for Palestine, and in the necessity and importance of preserving UNWRA to safeguard health and the education of young Palestinians living in camps in Lebanon and Jordan. We are also united in our support for the Hashemite custodianship of the Christian and Moslem Holy Sites in Jerusalem.

There are many areas where we share common concerns including the reality of hosting vast numbers of Syrian displaced and Palestinian refugees in our countries, with all the responsibilities and burdens that this entails, and of managing economies that are challenged by the pressures of international warfare and geographic constraints.

Nevertheless, beyond all these hurdles, we understand the value of our shared history and culture in this Arabic Levant which is more than just a geographical denomination – it is a source of pride and deep connection.

Our independence was hard won by our grandfathers and we are the third generation benefactors of their struggles. Our freedom and independence can never be challenged and it was won by the sacrifices of our martyrs, may God rest their souls We have so much to be grateful for and so much to be proud of!
